Been there. Never again though plenty of folk swear by it
Unfortunately with MAQS too many of the beehives are vacated until the smell goes away, therefore the phoretic mites escape the treatment, most bees really don’t like it.

Formic Pro is the same stuff just had a new licence granted after applying for the two year one.

Works ok with commercials, no queens killed here. Admittedly I’ll leave a super on and full opening on entrance but given the fact that it’s very quick I’m very pleased with, used for the last 3-4 years. That’s MAQS not formic pro.

Same procedure here with single Nationals.
Applied towards evening (lower temp. possibly giving a slower release, plus bees mostly "at home" ) seems to be effective.
I have used since became available on multiple hives/colonies (5 plus a season) with no discernible adverse effects.
I suppose it could be considered a little expensive but for limited hives the benefits of time and less manipulations required make it worthwhile for me.
The instructions are very clear on the precautions to be taken.
