We have just successfully collected and hived a small swarm! 14 days earlier than last year.
The parent colony has been living in the base of a fallen tree for the last 2 years. I suspect the hole is not very big as it throws small swarms quite often. Restricted for space?
despite the late spring the bees are raring to go my home colonies are expanding fast and 3 are supered already - It would be nice if we got a few consecutive days of decent weather instead of the odd good one among the c**p.
