first look bit of help pls

good evening.. ive just had a look into my hive for the first time this year. there were no active bees by the exit but when i took the cover off there were a few by the sugar feeder. not quite sure what to so gave some more sugar fluid and placed top back on. what are the best steps from here pls?? thanks Sean

Bit tricky to help on this info. How many is a few and were there more in the brood box please? Did you look at any frames?

First warmish day, pull a few frames and see what is going on, first warm day do a proper inspection. Impossible to tell what is happening on such bare facts!
