It was late last night that I thought how can new members get involved and learn without having bees of there own to manage fulltime.

Polyanwood, yes thats it,a virtual hive that belongs to all the members and is managed by them, with online updates pics videos and other members articles regards whats going on and what needs to be done.

I am sure I can think of loads!

For a start is anyone any good at writing press releases?
We also need a list of all hive types to start a poll.

I am sure members have many different skills they can bring to the forum even if you have never kept bees.

So what will be the first thing to decide on for the forum beehive??

If we choose hive first, you could argue that we then favour one type of bee over an other? And vice versa>>

I wonder if we should start by rating what we think the criteria are by which we will measure success and how we will measure them...
honey yield by weight is easy.... but not so easy if we take into account the amount we spend on producing it
what about temperament.. how would we measure that?
or resistance to varroa (think I will have to ban myself saying that) or nosema?

Would it be fun to run several hives the same way in different parts of the country? Or would it be more fun to allocate us to two teams so we have some friendly competition.

Can someone do a list of hives so we can run a poll?
