Saw my first horse chestnut pollen of the season coming in yesterday. The colour is so striking and always makes me think summer is coming:hurray:
Hah! Then I got up this morning and changed my mind.:(

Luckily the local is having a beer festival:cheers2:

Any one else have a favourite pollen?

A pint or three of Old Peculier

spring has arrived

But not this year yet, even now - well not properly!! The bees stayed indoors near all of today. They were collecting water and that seemed about it!

And if that metcheck weather site is anything to go by then the temperatures get even colder up to and by the 16th may..... 7..8c....near freezing most days, but sunny.

metcheck was 10 degrees out last week...

15 degrees midweek (down here anyway), turning cold again next weekend.

Pete.
I don't believe any of them have a clue what the weathers going to be.

There is a small amount of green/cream pollen that goes in every year about this time that I like to see,I must take a sample this year to see what it is.

Any ideas before I get some and polish the scope off.

might be Grape Hyacinth - Muscari.

I too like Chestnut, it's just so bright.

London Pride for me.

Adnams Broadside.....or an Old.....or a Mother-in-Law (if you know what one of those is!)

After exhaustive testing, the best bitter was Wolf's Lavender Honey, (had to bee.)
Fave pollen still horse chestnut.
