Have any of you switched hives to even up colony numbers, as either a part of swarm control, or just to help smaller stock.

Assuming the hives that are switched are free from disease, and that the foragers are bringing in lots of goodies, were there any problems ? did it work ?.

I think its better to give the weaker stock a frame of emerging brood +the young nurse bees adhering to it.You won't get fighting that way.

Yes it works fine, used it many a time and there is no fighting as the returning bees are bringing presents in.
