EFB has been found in East Leicestershire.

Good morning

I was unable to identify square SK83 so Dave has provided the following
information so you will know whether or not you are in or close to the area.

To help you the 10Km square SK83 is bounded by Belvoir and Bottesford on
the west and Grantham on the east.

Hope you are all unaffected.

Malcolm

Subject: EFB found in SK83

I have found a colony with EFB in square SK83.

The bees had been brought in from an adjacent county in 2009.

The hive has been destroyed

Hope this doesn't affect you :( Keep us all updated.

I doubt the 'adjacent county in 2009' bit is really relevant, or the symptoms have gone completely undetected for some period of time! I would hope not, or their could be a whole slew of infected colonies in both areas!

Regards, RAB

Errk - I'm about 5 miles from Grantham, luckily the wrong side for this. Will let you know if my local inspector (who also happens to be the National one) gets in touch.
