In Producing Varroa-tolerant Honey Bees from Locally Adapted Stock: A Recipe [1] we are shown how old-fashioned selective breeding can be used to raise varroa tolerent bees. The same thing can presumably be done for all diseases. Since our wild bees seem to be making a bit of a comeback, I've put up this thread as a place where the potential of this process can be explored.

I have been sent a PM that says this topic has already been typed to death on the BBKA forum,Biobee forum and in the States on the Beesource forum all started by the OP.

If anyone wants to add anything on this topic they may be better off adding a reply on one of those forums as the topic is already being debated.

Admin.

First thread I have had to lock on the forum.

Reason for locking thread: THREAD STARTER IS A RAVING LOONY!
