EFB confirmed in Essex

Hi i have TWO EFB cases confirmed today in Tilbury and Chadwel St Mary, Essex. These were confirm by Peter Heath our local DEFRA bee inspector.

Change the bee stock and you get rid off it.

Tilbury - is it likely that the bees could have come from a swarm overseas considering how close to the docks ??

the bees have came from a bee farmer up north who sold them to two newbies last year as a 5 frame nuc. They have contacted me as one of them had his bees swarmed and needed help collecting them. i had a quick look in the parent hive and saw signs of foulbrood and told the newbie to call our local inspector.
The newbie has decided to kill and burn the bees and frames, rather than risk a chance to have it again.
