I was clearing some of the weeds in front of my Hives. Very sub zero temperatures. One poly nuc still took exception and came out to clear me off. Do they not know its cold?

.
They surely know, but they are aware too to defend their hive.
They rise the temp to 40C which is the thorax heat of quick flying.

I have noticed the same. Only wanking around the hive makes alarm.

Oh boy!

1. An act of getting lotto win into hand. 4 million!
2. A detestable person.

You really have a strange language...

-10 degrees - no flying

It's -10 and miserable for me and the Bees - but this thread made me laugh out loud and scare the cat. Talk about chaos theory: that now means steves bees in cleveland are responsible for scaring my cat!

I guess we all have our own way of showing how much we love our bees :smilielol5:

I have just got to the stage of occasionally not wearing gloves.............gonna be a while yet before I move on to that kind of exposure.
Maybe its covered in the course in a case.........

Did see a dead drone today......... maybe he had nipped out for a quick bit of relief........after all its ages till mating season.

As usual I can see we are going to end up with a ''mass debate'' on this thread.;)

But for once i think a consensus will be reached that it is NOT recommended to stick matchsticks under the lid OR apply OA at any concentration!

All you have to remember is that if you get stung, it's only a little prick...

I'll get me coat.
