Invariably you can't you have to put up with it or try and jiggle the frames around a bit, if using it as a rolling demaree then remove and extract as soon as it is sealed.

i've been moving empty frames back into LBB inc some cells which have started to be filled with nectar and expect them to shift it

Try moving backfilled frames to the LBB and put the super below the TBB. The bees should move the nectar/honey up into your super.

They usually put it right back in the top brood box - better off putting a super above the top box

OK - but that's what he has now and they haven't put anything in the super over the UBB.

Just keep moving the frames down.
