During my health inspection yesterday of my hives I found 2 where pupae have been uncapped at pink eye stage. I have been feeding since 24/7 ( yesterday was their 3rd batch of 1.5l syrup per hive) as the nectar flows have been very poor since the OSR finished. So they are now not short of stores. There is no sign of silk tracks so I do not think its wax moth/bald brood. The last varroa counts (mid July) were all at drop rates of less than 4 per day. Put in the board yesterday to do another week count. Some of the pupae are then showing signs of being eaten by the house bees. I have not found any evidence of either foul brood. I do not think this is chalk brood either as the pupae have got to pink eye stage. Does anyone have an explanation for what is going on here please?

Sounds like bald brood to me. If it is, not serious.
