So i just went to see if the bees were busy and on the floor outside the hive was a large bee. On closer inspection this seems to be the queen which is definitely dead.

Their was also quite a bit of activity outside the hive and i must have breathed on them or something as all of a sudden their was hell up. I got stun on both of my arms and the back of the neck.

DOH!

I went home to get my suite etc and when i checked through quickly sure enough their are 5 queen cups and 4 of them sealed so they are around 9 days old. But the chance of a new queen getting mated now i am guessing is pretty much NIL!

I am gutted. :(

PM sent.

At least i know wether i am allergic to stings now as i have not been stung before, or at least for a very long time.

And last time was aged about 13 and even then i couldn't be sure it was a honey bee.
