So I would like to try a colony of black bees, but the only nucs I can find come on dadant frames and all my equipment is langstroth. Dadant frames are about the same size re the top bar, but 2" deeper. So how to make the transfer. I've read one suggestion which is to put the queen somewhere safe and cut out the dadant brood, comb and stores and attach to empty langstroth frames using rubber bands. Has anyone a better idea? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You couldbuild an adaptor, put the Dadant on top of the Lang, put frames of foundation in th Lang with a couple of drawn frames in the middle. Do it when a strong flow is on, or feed plenty of syrup to stimulate the queen's laying.
David Heaf's beekeeping pages This gives a page with an adaptor national/ Warré, but it shows the idea.
