I just checked out the packaging and wording on the can of the old and new style cuprinol clear. (the old being in the can with green on it, the new being blue coloured)

The only difference in the active ingredients is that the new formulation has less of both.

So if the old stuff was safe, the new stuff ought to be too, except it hasn't been tested.
