Hi, any one use separate cover sheets under the cover board?

I have a large number but cant see the benefit in using them, surely they reduced the top bee space?

Thanks for feedback.

i have used cloth cover sheets for when i am going through bive hives to keep the flyers down

do yo leave them on when you close up with a coverboard on top?

What you are talking about are 'Quilts' as opposed to crown boards and are not used together . Quilts were the standard not too long ago, I believe 'quilts' are still listed in "items to be destroyed by fire" in the event of an outbreak of AFB.
