Hey all
Did my first artificial swarm last saturday as the bee's had loads of queen cells, both capped and uncapped with larvae and jelly.
Just checked on them and found the following:
No eggs at all in either hive.
Both hives have house and flying bees.
Both have plenty of pollen and honey present and coming in.
Capped brood in both hives.
Hive 1 has about 7 capped QC's
Hive 2 has the following:
My assumtions are the following:
The silly bloody mare of a queen decided to bugger off anyway after the AS, OR hshe had already left before i AS'd.
Hive 1 is waiting for a QC to hatch and mate.
Hive 2 has a virgin Queen that has forcefully abdicated all of her siblings, and hopefully should be mating soon, and laying just after that.
Comments?
