Does it matter whether proven or long established principle?

My understanding has always been that it is a bad thing to shake queen cells or to chill them for that matter.

Now lets consider shake... Does it mean a gentle wiggle or a latteral force of tons? All depends innit?

To me whether proven by some PHD or not, it makes sense not to roughly shake the generator of the next colony I intend establishing.

Play safe. It pays.

As long as the sun stayed out, it was ok for a quick look today. All colonies building up steadily, which is nice. Bees all well behaved, even my mountain apiary but I had to work fast as an icy wind was starting to pick up. I was happy with the state of the brood nest and finding eggs was sufficient (along with general signs) to show all was well.
I did get chance to swap super frames over into a poly super and fit the poly roof to sort out a dampness issue in the hive that will eventually go poly. I can't wait to add the poly BB.
