Google Clematis Slime Flux.. It is caused by a bacteria infection. My Clematis Montana died sometime in the spring. I hadn’t got round to removing it until today. When I did this afternoon, the smell was disgusting, like rotting flesh. It was oozing yuk. I haven’t seen anything like this before. Any idea what may have happened? Thanks for that. I’ll look it up.Google Clematis Slime Flux.. It is caused by a bacteria infection.
It’s definitely that. The plant was about 18yrs old. Info suggests older specimens are more vulnerable, especially if they have been weakened by a bad winter.Google Clematis Slime Flux.. It is caused by a bacteria infection.
