Cleaning wax melting equipment

Just got round to using my Kochstar wax melting insert for their baby bottler. Now left with some wax and crud down the side of the pot. Suggestions welcomed for cleaning up and removing the residue. Thanks.

Melt the pot down and recast it.

Sometimes boiling water from the kettle gets rid of small amounts.
