Anybody got experience with Charlock??

Farmer's got loads in his field beans so I'm expecting to get a fair amount of Charlock honey ....

Howes mentions Charlock honey sets in 3 days on exposure to sunlight and if you leave any in your extractor it can set very quickly too...

Oh, I've also got several turnip fields that are in flower too. Manley mentions turnips can give a good yield if allowed to flower...

Any thoughts??

Charlock is closely related to oilseed rape, so I would imagine that it will be hard to tell the difference. Turnip is even closer! There is one form of oilseed rape called 'turnip rape' which is the same species, most OSR is swede rape.

all the best

I had charlock in the field in front of me last year without realising the consequences. These were a number of store frames with honey set in them. The extractor was no use at all. Suppose I left them too long before extracting, so be aware! Treat as for rape would be my suggestion.
