Hi all,

Any recommendations (and prices) on red cedar planks (rough sawn) and suppliers ?

I know it takes 3-6 months to dry each plank if it is rough sawn - no problems with that - but any prices per m / cord on PAR kiln dried would be helpful.

thanks

When I made my hive on the Axminster course last month (see separate posting and picture) we used first class Western Red Cedar with no knots. Apparently Axminster sources it from Eype Down Sawmill Ltd Tel: 07974 672 649.

Up here in Herefordshire I am looking at sourcing from a local mill that supplied me with cedar cladding for a shed, but the quality does not look to be as good.

I looked into this myself at first.

For the cost of the materials + don't forget the waste.

I've found it cheaper to buy & just assemble myself. :smash:
There's a chap <3 miles from me who machines the parts & sells on site for @ 1/2 the price of the well known suppliers. :drool5:

He also gives away the shavings (he hasn't burnt), great stuff for your smoker.

And me please?

Thanks

He's on the Fosse Way just outside Lighthorne.

Can't find his phone number at moment. Will drive by next week and send it out.
