Catch a swarm then move it.

Let's say I have put a bait hive in a suitable location to catch a swarm then subsequently succeeded but now I want to move that hive to my apiary. I know the feet or three mile maxim but am wondering what would happen if the bait hive was moved to the right location (say, 10 metres away) immediately the swarm has settled in, would that work?
