Can you have Top Beespace WBCs?

I want to expand my apiary with the addition of a couple of WBCs. I intend to use top beespace for these hives.

I am concerned that by using TBS I effectively reduce the space between the bottom of the brood frames and the WBC floor by 7 mm, leaving only 10mm or so of space. Surely this space will quickly be blocked with hive debris.

Does anyone use Top Beespace WBCs and have any problems or cures for this issue?

I just nailed 10mm flat wood to the top of the brood box.
