My hive is tucked away in a corner, surrounded on two sides by a 3m hedge and to its rear by a sort of tree-house on stilts. Under the tree-house is a wood pile, and in the wood pile is a nest of bumbles. This means the entrance to the bumble nest is only 1.5m from my hive.
I carried out an inspection yesterday and removed a few bumblebee corpses from the bottom of my brood box.
I'm reluctant to disturb them, and think my colony is strong enough to see off any raiding attempts. What would you do?

Leave them be .. the odd bumble does try to get into a hive .. they usually exit pretty quickly but if they don't any healthy reasonably sized honeybee colony will sort them out.

Bumbles are in more danger than honeybees ... apart from Bombus Hypnorum which seems to becoming the dominant bumble where I live .. so the last thing you should be doing is trying to get rid of them.

Leave them alone and enjoy them. Lovely creatures.

No danger to your bees or yourself.

Bumbles working ceanothus in our garden at 7.30am.. Honey bees in bed..

We have wasp nests and bumble nests in the ground near our hives. The badgers sort the ground based ones ALL out long before the wasps become a problem. No point in intervening..
