Bumble bees Bombus sp.

Slightly off topic for the forum, but does anybody know how bumble bees are reared commercially? Is it something that could be done on a small scale, by the part timer? What is involved etc etc...

it is something that i have heard of being done . there was some form of kit that was sold at garden centre's and as the bees nested into the bee house you could seal the ends and send it of to the people who make them, but that was ages ago so dont know much else
