Probably not the same thing but BBKA News DECEMBER p.410 "Zombees"

Bees leave hive at night and then collect in a disoriented way on the ground when a bright light is shone? Not quite the same as yours which fly, perhaps.

Sorry but if you are going to discuss the original post, can you do it somewhere completely unrelated? This is the thread to chat about holly...

(Sarcasm not directed at cherry) lolz...

:icon_204-2: My holly (I have lots in the garden) is already covered in big red berries ... however, I have a very confused Hydrangea which is in full bloom ... very odd. And ... it's not a new one .. been in there for over 30 years as we brought it from our last house - bizarre.

Dioecious to you - hope that helps

Going back to the OP kind of... We have had beeks reporting before that their bees have flown towards lit windows at night, but never had an answer as to why. Maybe they are out and about in the dark more than we know?

Hi Darren, Just a thought are they crowded?

Even if they are it's a bit too late to do anything about it now .. in any case numbers will naturally reduce over the winter and the time to be wary of space issues is when they start building up in Spring .. that would be the time to give them more space.... not now, not under any normal circumstances IMO.
