I noticed this afternoon that a few bees had not gone for the Hazel pollen and instead seemed to be bringing in a nice sage coloured pollen.

Anyone an idea of what this bee pollen may of been.

Hi Admin,

If there is willow near you it could be that, as the colour can turn from yellow to green after exposure to sunlight.

Pollen grains turn darker after rain or early in the morning.

More useless info.

Regards;

An after thought ; what trees are in blossom in your area, as I have a feeling it may originate from a tree.

Not useless Bcrazy.

I showed my father who is 80 and he also said it was willow as it can change colour.

I never believed him of course :blush5:

This is the man who I say is past giving out good information yet is teaching fly fishing to a group on the river test all day Friday.

Maybe its time I started to listen to him.

Just checking something else and find that hazel is described as sage green.

Is it not the case that you have pollen arriving which is magnolia coloured and you thought it came from hazel?

If you read the 2nd para it says bright yellow pollen... so now we have yellow and sage green for Hazel but NOT magnolia...so that one remains a mystery.
