A 1 meter bolt crops will remove them in less than a second. thieves will stake a place out first and they will know the quickest plan of action before they remove the hives or bees. Geese would be a better option.

Geese are ace but they crap everywhere and callers you do want to see stop calling :)
We used to have a pair roaming the yard. A boy called one day, the gander spotted him and waddled towards him honking and hissing. A yellow puddle formed around the boys feet before we rescued him. :icon_204-2::icon_204-2::icon_204-2:

Rather depends on how big a chain you use ...

I use geese to keep the unwanted away but the other half has her eye on them for Christmas dinner.

another quick fix is a small cable through the OMF attached to a dog anchor or heavy object. thieves lift hive, floor rips out. with a hidden camera you might have another viral video for youtube :)

Three of the geese ended up on the table, One for my website designer and two for us.

I am now looking for hatching eggs for next year.

use a surplus chieftain tank as a bee shed secured with a nitride hardened timelock.
colonies use the periscopes & engine exhausts as entrances. Proof against cold war bee rustlers

Geese can be silenced instantly but i may have trouble with a Chieftain Tank.. haha

If in Ireland... a paddylock?

Borrowed a huge one from ERA in Willenhall for a security exhibition in London where my company was exhibiting... only just fitted in the back of the Escort van!... in the 1974 Guinness book of records I believe!
