Bee activity = polen + ....

Maybe a silly question but I thought I would ask the sage keepers anyway, we have a hive with plenty of activity can see the pollen sacks on maybe 5% of bees returning but what are the others doing, I assume its nectar they are bringing back in the stomachs....just hard to see the fruits of their labour and foraging without opening the hive.

As you say, probably nectar, water, possibly propolis, after those 3 i would not know either.
