Those of you using a Beehaus and applying Apiguard....

I've taped the varroa board to the hive body to close off the open mesh floor, and I have the 4 place wasp guard in place. Does this give enough ventilation or should I open up by removing the wasp guard?

By way of observation the bees seem ok and are flying in and out ok and don't seem unduly stressed.

Any thoughts from Beehaus users? Any of you out there?

Small colony, 4 beeways - might be necessary for wasp protection, but anything much larger should need more entry/exit. Not so much more and not all of the entrance is needed at this time of the year. As I have said previously, calling it a wasp guard is a joke, as far as I am concerned. You do what is necessary, not go from one extreme to another, with no intermediate steps documented.

Regards, RAB
