Just had a bit of a sort out and came across 2 x 2.5kg of Apifonda I forgot I had it and it must be two years old?

My instincts tell me not to use it but I am also thinking perhaps its ok

It’s the wrong time of year to experiment but does anyone know the expected shelf life of this product.

I guess the only way to be sure is to try some yourself for dinner.

If you are still here tomorrow morning, then perhaps it is still OK...

I did think of putting a bit in a friends tea as he likes it sweet but lucky for him he failed to show

If it smells and looks OK then I am sure it is fine. Unless it has been stored at high temperatures then the HMF value should be OK which is the only thing I can think of which would harm the bees if it otherwise looks OK. The only other bee food I know has a nominal shelf life of 2 years but like all shelf lives it can be assumed to be a bit on the conservative side.

Thanks rooftops it looks ok to me not able to smell it as it is still sealed but the bag looks normal as in not bloated like a football.
