I think these hives just prove bees can be kept in anything. Thermalite type blocks are also very porous so don’t use any place damp. Simple fact is there’s better and easier materials. Sometimes I do have to ask WHY😂
 
If the blocks are porous, how does that sit if the colony gets hit with disease? How do you sterilise them? Would blow torching them cause them to go brittle? If you spray with a disinfectant, with all the small cavities I fear missing a patch and the next colony being exposed. My light is not illuminated and no lighty...no likey!
 
That answers my question. Add a chimney and it becomes a pizza oven whilst you sterilise it 🤣

Very much this. Especially if you then get frosts. The blocks just crumble once the water inside freezes. DAMHIKIJKOK?
