Can anyone recommend for me an easy to follow and informative book on Queen Rearing?
I would like to learn more on the subject and then maybe try it myself next season.
Thanks Brian.

I second the Woodward book suggestion but a simpler to follow text is queen rearing symplified by Vince Cook

the Cook system failed for me.

In essence you need to consider the following.

How do you offer up the larvae?

How do you ensure said larvae is accepted.

How do you carry on the accepted cells.

How do you mate the queens?

Pretty straightforward really, but do consider the weather.

Do any of these books go into detail about actually taking the small larva out of the cell and grafting into a new cell and also what to look for when doing this and so on ?

It's very simple, you use a strong light, slip your grafting tool under the larvae which should be smaller than the letter "c" lift it out with out brushing the sides, and again with out touching the sides deposit in the cell cup.

Simple.

And I just saved you £12 on buying a book. (again!) LOL

Thanks Ph , i'm now in profit of about £24.00 :)
