Received a phone call from a friendly local council pest control officer this morning about a prime swarm in the middle of a busy street in a North Shropshire market town.

Would I like it?

If I did then could he possibly undertake the removal in to my box to appease his departmental bosses and to prove to them that he was in control of the situation?

No problem I said.

It was just a shame that he slipped whilst holding the branch with aforementioned swarm just as I'd pulled the car up on to the pavement!

You've never seen what an Isuzu Trooper looks like when it's bedecked with about 35,000 bees!

This photo is of the final few going in once we'd found HM and placed her in my 'swarm retrieval box' (home-made).

Good idea for swarm box WPC.
Do you put a frame of drawn comb in?

No, it's an old, manky brood box with a solid floor and two lids.....the top is solid and the second one is a travelling screen....so when they're all in I just pop the top one off and away we go!!!
