Pretty shredded but the abdomen fits
They mimic the scent of a beehive and get in to steal honey. Brilliant find.

Brilliant but their not my hands.
There were two dead in the hive, it's solid floor with an underfloor entrance, it looks like they unfortunately couldn't figure how to get out once they were in.
 
Still catching up, and just found this thread. Here's a death's head hawk moth that made the mistake of wandering into a hive at the west end of the Gower peninsula. I wonder if the bees would have completely entombed it in propolis if they hadn't been interrupted....
