Apologies up front if this is a stupid question but this is my first season and everything is a bit daunting! I have put the Apiguard in my hives and closed up in the OM floors - my question is do I leave them closed for the entire duration of the treatment or do I need to check the mite count? Any advice gratefully received

I pull the insert out twice a week for the four week+ treatment. 2 reasons for this:-
1. lets you monitor a (hopefully) reducing number of mites as the treatment progresses. clean the insert each time.

2. If you leave the insert in place the whole time you will have a mountain of debris AND wax moths.:ack2:
:cheers2: Mike

Thanks for the feedback. Mike - don't like the sound of debris and wax moths, I'll follow your suggestion. Thanks
