Anyone have any experience of using AGA warming or simmering oven to extract wax from frames?

Be aware that rendering wax in a normal oven destroys the insides after only a couple of years. So if you have to replace your AGA, it might turn out to be very expensive wax!!

Er, yes. Short answer: "step away from the Aga". : )

When we first had a bit of wax to melt down, I used our Rayburn to try and melt it. It is very hard to control the temperature precisely enough, and it goes everywhere. Cleaning down the Rayburn after "containment failure" is a job I never want to do again.

Solar extractor all the way. At least you can clean those outside with a hose.
