Just about to start beekeeping, live in Cumbria UK and want to learn all I can.

Hi Jon. Whereabouts in Cumbria
I used to live just outside Kendal.
Consider joining your local association where you can get to play with their bees before diving in to get your own.
The Haynes bee manual is a good place to start.

Just outside Cockermouth, joined the local association and the BBKA and ordered the Haynes manual alongside a bunch of other books.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome ... you are in a good area to keep bees ... although a little wet in winter. Sounds like you are heading in the right direction and if it veers off a bit there's always help and advice available on here - don't be afraid to ask.
