This forum really has become the home of horrible individuals. What is the point.

It's spoilt another thread of mine really . Apologies to all .
I think I'll be giving the forum a bit of a miss from now on .
I hope you all have a good spring, summer.
Thanks.
Mark.

I always enjoy reading posts by others on their beekeeping journey. So don't let one old miserable git put you off.

Hi Nigel , the ignore button is no good you can still see that they have put posts up perhaps it would be better if admin had a word .
Some people are just damn right rude , fair enough he's a very experienced beekeeper or is he ?
Perhaps he's jealous of my youth and passion for this new hobby that I'm very lucky to have found.
As I've said I'll be giving the forum a brake but will still grow my beekeeping experience and girly stock.
I'll pm my number to you for future reference ok.
I think you have my email?
Thanks
Mark..

CFG pls stick around such an individual is clearly suffering from some kind of inadequacy, perceived or otherwise and keyboard warriors very rarely speak as much in person.

Hi CGF shame that you wont be contributing, as its nice to read the experience of beekeepers a few years down the road of learning for us beginners, but understand your frustration, i have only been a member for a year and already have a few on my block list!
Good luck for the season :)

Been on this forum for a long time now. Never used the ignore button. Some behaviour does make me laugh. I never respond to bad behaviour as it just starts a vicious cycle.

Just returned from a few days away and I am saddened by this saga. Bullies and those who engage in recreational abuse, create hostility, intentionally waste time, belittle and humiliate, attempting to frustrate or frighten others into silence succeed only in making a toxic environment online; which is unhelpful, unkind and harmful to all. They also succeed in highlighting their own unhappiness, providing a juvenile admission of weakness and self-loathing. Ignoring bad behaviour online seldom works. I choose this forum above BBKA and the SBKA because it had no particular affiliation. I regret that choice; I was going to give some financial support to this forum, I am having second thoughts now. In the short time that I have been a member I have witnessed several people "bullied" out. Yet as a "quiet observer" of the others I see very little hostility.
Anonymity or the lack of affiliation to an "official" group does seem to encourage those intent on causing hurt to other members.

To quote myself from the Beekeeping myths thread:

Another beekeeping myth:

Forum members are helpful and support one another, and never hijack and spoil the sensible discussion in a thread with mine's bigger than yours argument and abuse.

Q.E.D. yet again, sadly.

Thanks.

You are all so kind with your words of support and I thank you all from the bottom of my smoker .
I will endeavour to keep on going .
It can't get any worse than going to association meetings and my fellow trustee members looking at you twice because you've suggested something out of the ordinary.
Thanks again and best wishes .
You have made this beekeeper feel very proud to be called a descent beekeeper.

Excellent news! Hurrah for all that is curly, green and fingered....

PS Now can we get on with the ignoring the droll moans of the nether world and back to writing and reading about bumbling about in the apiary?
