Maybe they are talking about that pasteurised rubbish from the uk that the big companies sell.

It's not the pasteurisation that makes it inferior, it's the fact it's blended to a uniformly boring product. Also most major brand supermarket (English) honey is creamed - is it largely boring rape?

Do they pasteurise Manuka?
 
Just checked I only have 30 jars left :(

about 1/2 is clear and other half is creamed

A little useless information! Manuka honey could not be given away in N/Zeland along came a cleaver clogs beekeeper and bought tons of the stuff re sold it with a selling pitch to a gullible yank and made a fortune. even now the N Zeland-ers general public don't accept Manuka honey on the table.
