Hi all, I have bought some cans of ambrosia as above through my local group. I've now made up my thymol mix, thanks to hivemaker:.) to add per gallon, but I'm not sure and have no easy way of measuring how much is in one the cans. Was told it was a gallon but looks more. Can anyone advise. Was looking to feed tonight.

Thanks, Di:.)

By my ROUGH reckoning that is 2.8 gallons.

A litre of water weighs 1kg. I've done quick checks in the past and found a litre of sugar weighs about 1 kg.

So 12.5 / 4.454 = 2.8 gallons.

Someone will no doubt give you a more accurate way.

According to this site:

http://www.csgnetwork.com/sgvisc.html

72% sugar solution has SG 1.36, ie 1 litre weighs 1.36Kg.

So 12.5/1.36 = 9.2L

9.2/4.55 = 2.02 galllons.

I know Ambrosia has max water content of 27.6%. Assuming that the rest is mostly sugar, the above calculation should be near enough.

Thank you Repwok & PeterS, guess somewhere around those 2 figures should be close enough, much closer than ! gallon anyway:.)
