Hi ,
We are in an interesting position , mother in law has sadly passed away and left a small amount of money and we are about to buy or looking to buy a small area of forest say 1 Acre .
Its right at the side of open farmland and crops , we were thinking of putting 3 hives at least in this area and putting the hives in full morning sun as much as possible . Being a forest there is quite a bit of canopy cover ( we can clear it ) .
Does anyone have any known problems with this and already does it ? .
We can put the car quite close to the hives so not a lot of heavy lifting .
My only main concern is if I become allergic to a sting and im miles away from help so will carry at all times in car all that's needed although im not allergic .
So if anyones got 3 hives fully kitted out and is thinking of finishing if they are in good health and wear and a good price we could be interested .But might start from scratch.
thanks
Alan.
p.s We are not total beginners we have 1 hive already and been keeping bees about 5 years .
