    oxalic vaporiser in poly hive?

    I use a varrox on my Paynes polys 14x12s i just swing out entrance reducer one side put a rolled up sheet to block enterance and slide varrox in never had a problem with it melting the poly saves all that fafing placing it on boards underneath the mesh .

    Painting Poly Hives

    I use B&Q Colours exterior gloss water based in buckingham green looks goods and seems to be much better wearing than santex on my paynes poly's.

    A lot of dead bees outside the hive

    I have the same under one of my double poly nucs they were so busy yesterday they were falling to the ground trying to get in the entrance getting cold and dieing I have now fixed a flight board underneath.

    No clips on the National size there are clips on the langstroth boxes, they come ready painted and are of a higher density than standard polys on the market 160g/liter they looked very well made with some nice features to them. Unfortunatly they don't do them in 14x12 brood at the moment so...

    Paynes poly base being devoured

    Agree with Hm I have had this happen to Me this winter with a paynes feeder sitting in my shed next to some old frames which some wax moth larvae hatched on the buggers dug right through it.

    Or if you are not in a rush leave them be for the summer and then when they are reducing for winter put them in the poly 14x12 and over winter them in a nice warm poly box which will give you all winter to do your mods.

    Cleaning heavy syrup from a shoty-pile carpet

    You could always hire out a carpet cleaner from the local super market for a day and clean the rest of the carpet as well.
