    2:1 or 1:1 syrup

    Contact feeders will feed at lower temperatures because the bees don't have to stray so far from their cluster. The cluster forms when outside temps reaches around 13 degrees (c) or so. Don't feed syrup which is likely to freeze so use fondant in winter if the colony is light.
