    Moving a hive just before winter?

    What ever time you move a hive, you will induce some form of stress in the bees, the amount of stress will be dependant on time/distance and how gentle (or not) the move is. I've moved several hives over the years (over 3 miles) and found the best time was after dusk regardless of time of year...

    Are my MAQS defective?

    I don't intend using MAQS just yet, as I've heard some horror stories. Depending on the general feedback from others after a full season of use I may decide to use on one colony as a trial.
