    Feral colony in tree

    Was at a nature reserve place today where the ranger ask me about what could be done to save a colony in a tree. The tree is dead and rotten and has to be felled.     Pollen mites

    I just got some comb to set up a brood box to add to one hive. There is some powdery stuff in a few cells. Guessed these were pollen mites so looked at it under the microscope. It was crawling with them. My question is can I use this comb if I wash out the affected cells?

    Cleaning frames

    Dead bees

    Went to an out apiary today and a hive had about 50-100 dead bees outside it. Everything else seemed fine. They have been treated with apiguard. Could it be the cold, possibly the thymol smell or is does it indicate something is wrong?

    Moving bees

    If I want to move a hive say 10 feet can I do can I do this by moving them 3 feet a day until in a new location or do I have to wait longer between each step?
