    this is outlanders honey warming cabinet. two heaters at the bottom, slatted shelves and two fans for circulating the warm air worked a treat.

    Hi i remember being told something about the smell of pear drops from a hive. I picked up a swarm and got a strong smell of pear drops and still can smell it when i open the hive. Thear are no local sweetie shops can some one remind me what it signifies please :spy:

    unfortunately they have a cost at the moment feed + extra equipment, and yes they should of gone to an out apery but that has more hives than my garden... but the point is why do people think it is ok to dump or abandon bees any other living creature and the police/rspca ect will prosecute it...

    I didn't do it alone outlander helped me sort them out, an to be honest the combs were clean and empty as far as could tell all looked ok but too cold to keep them out for too long,

    as one of Norwich's swarm coordinators I have had a busy and interesting summer. But to day I got a call from the council to ask if we could investigate/ remove a home made hive complete with bees. that had been dumped on the side of the road. Surprised and intrigued off I went to look. The TBH...

    Swarm collection rant

    I think a reasonable charge for fuel ect is ok and as long as you are up front with the house holder. whether you stay till after dark or leave a swarm box and return later is a up to you and I find each collection is different and calls for different approach. :sunning:

    Do you ever get the feeling you just been used?

    No the collection was perfect, not a bee left and the old ladys garden was not disturbed in any way. And the treatment used is what was advised on swarms as no brood is presant, but we live and learn and we all make mistakes at times, :ohthedrama: A different aproach will be used next time...
