Managed to catch a cast swarm from one of my hives this morn, tried to walk it up into a nuc box, they all flew back under the hive they came from. Gathered them up again, found young Q and made sure she went back in the nuc with the rest and turned disc entrance to Q excluder. Checked this aft...

Schoolboy error, just checked hives with flies at half mast then got that horrible feeling of a bee crawling around inside trousers until ouch, stung on the leg. Could have been worse i suppose. Lesson learnt till next time

Anyone know if Asparagus when it flowers is a good nectar/pollen source
