    Thank you very much, that has certainly helped my understanding of why someone may choose to have a TBH and how it would function in comparison to say a National hive (and such like hives). :D

    I've heard about TBH's and was trying to find some info on the Warre hives etc, I've read that they are suppose to be a more natural way of keeping bees but after googling it I still don't really understand why.     You could always see if a local beekeeper wanted to site a hive on your land, you wouldn't need to do any maintenance yourself but maybe if you wanted to give beekeeping a go yourself in a couple of years, you'd have someone on hand to 'show you the ropes'.
